COFFEE TALK 01

Natalie over at 23Seveteen hosts "Coffee Talk" every Thursday and it's about dang time I join in the fun! During Coffee Talk, Natalie asks us bloggers a handful of questions and we all link-up and get to know each other better. I absolutely love this idea and am excited to finally participate. Well, here goes nothing!

1. What's for dinner tonight?
Honestly, probably leftovers! I am such an avid leftover-eater though. I absolutely dislike wasting food and sometimes things just taste better the second time around, i.e. pizza. I have the wonderful advantage of going home to my mom's wonderful cooking so there's that, too! I am saving my "going out to eat fund" for this weekend (Hey, Boone!) and next weekend (Hey, Boston!).

2. Top three TV shows you never miss.
THIS IS SUCH A HARD ONE. Unfortunately I do not really watch television shows when they first air, but with things like Netflix, friends with DVR, re-runs on tv websites, I try to stay caught up. Right now some shows that are on air that I hate to miss include Once Upon A Time, How I Met Your Mother and Girls! (I am currently finishing up Brothers and Sisters on Netflix as well).
3. What type of body wash are currently using?
Satsuma from The Body Shop! I have been indulging in this scent since high school! I love it so much my mom used to buy me the gift sets every Valentine's Day. I wonder if she will this Valentine's Day! I can always depend on her to make me feel loved on this "commercially couple's holiday". Anyway, this scent is fantastic. I have always been a fan of the fruity/citrus/sweet scents without it being overbearing. Definitely a great body wash to use in the morning, afternoon or evening. The body butter is even better!

4. Take a photo of what's in front of you.

Part of my living room.

5. What's your favorite fruit?
Hmm....... I am going to have to go with mangoes. Oh wait! Oranges. Wait... PINEAPPLE, but only if I eat it in Costa Rica :) Those three are probably my favorites... they just can't compete with one another!

6. Spring is almost here (well, it's already here for us Floridians haha) show me your go-to outfit
Skinny jeans, Hanes Men White V neck, cardigan, wedges (or flats) and a fun light scarf. I'm a simple girl.

Well, you got to know a little bit more about me :)
Can't wait to read everybody's answers! If you would like, share with me your own answers in the comments below or link up with Natalie!

SEVEN THINGS 1 | link-up

I haven't done a link-up in such a long time.
One of my favorite bloggers, and whom I'd like to consider a friend, Gentri has "Seven Things" where you answer seven questions about yourself and provide a silly picture of you each time. I thought, why the heck not! It's definitely a fun way to get to know each blogger and see a different side. Well, here goes nothing!

1. Pick a boyfriend: Edward Cullen, Peeta Mellark, or Harry Potter
Okay, right now I'm in the middle of the second Hunger Games so I am totally into Peeta. Maybe a little bit too into Peeta. I mean, hell-o, he bakes, paints, and his favorite color is orange. Edward is a little too perfect and although I love me some Harry Potter, I was always into Oliver Wood ;)

2. If you HAD to have a crazy hairdo, what hairdo would you choose and why? (mohawk, mullet, etc)
DEFINITELY a pixie cut! I've been growing out my hair for the past two years so I'm a bit attached to it now, but I do miss the sassy-ness and spunk of a short hair cut. Think Emma Watson.
hot diggity dog!

3. If you could be a celebrity what would you like to be celebrated for? (Dance, Singing, Acting, Reality TV [ie no reason], Political Leader, etc)
I can't be a triple threat? Haha kidding. I am probably torn between dancing and singing. Realistically I could maybe get away with dancing with about 234,345,436 hours of training but that's much better than the INFINITE training I would need to be a singer (oh gosh, I am horrible).

4. Be honest- do you brush and floss your teeth daily?
Nope :( Brush, yes. Floss....nope. My dentist and I have a love/hate relationship.

5. What is one fear you are working to overcome?
I've actually been thinking a lot about what my fears are. Right now I'd say my fear is being forgotten. I don't really take being ignored very well.

6. White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, or Semi-Sweet (isn't that just dark chocolate)??
White. Chocolate. Even though it's technically not chocolate? Milk chocolate comes at a verrrrrry close second. Of course I like the chocolates that aren't the healthiest for you. I am sucker for Kit Kats, Reeses, Tolberone, Lindt .. okay, I'll stop now. I'm drooling.

7. What is one trend you wish you could pull off?
 Ridiculously sexy heels.
I just can't do it! I've been practicing wearing heels but one, when you're in college in the MOUNTAINS it just does not make sense to wear heels all the time and two I haven't quite mastered the art of walking in heels. Trust me, I'm practicing and maybe, just maybe I'll look as cool as Sydney or Kendi one day. How do they make it look so natural? I really wonder, do they really wear those all day? Who cares, they look great.

Okay, silly picture time.

Oh, come on! Everyone messes around their Photobooth...alone...in their room. Hahah These are from last year some time. Probably around mid-terms or finals because that's when I tend to go a little crazy. Enjoy. Wow, that was thoroughly embarrassing. I give you permission to judge me.

Tuesday Tunes v.1 || Free Music Edition

One of my best blogging friends Danielle has been doing Tuesday Tunes for quite some time now and I am finally linking up with her! She has one of the best taste in music, so look at her past TT posts and bond with her over the love of music. Today's post will consists of some amazing artists (some even local!) that I want to share with everyone. For a bonus, every artist I'm sharing offers a free download of one of their songs (I know, early Christmas presents for all, right?)

Without further adieu...

Love You Strongly

I ran across this lovely sweet song on Amazon as a free download and guess what...it's still one! Click here to get your free legal download of this song. Amy has the sweetest voice and downright honest lyrics about "the other side of love." You can't help but fall in love with her fresh talent.

I Don't Want Love

When I say I'm in love with this song, I mean I'm in love. The kind of love that hurts while at the same time makes you extremely unhappy. I guess the kind of unhealthy love. I don't want know it is about this song, but it hits some sort of nerve of mine and I can't let go. I listen to this song maybe five times a day an hour. I wish I were exaggerating! Trust me, there will be more posts on The Antlers. Click here for the free Amazon download for "I Don't Want Love." All you have to do is listen and you'll understand.

The New River Boys are three of the most entertainingly, talented and giving gentleman out of Boone. No, but seriously. They are all over Boone and have the best sense of humor I have ever witnessed in my life. If you don't like to laugh or listen to great music, just don't go to any of their shows. They recently played for a fundraiser I planned a couple weeks back and I can't thank them enough. Oh, and did I mention they play the BEST covers of The Avett Brothers? Seriously though. I melt every time they play "Murder in the City." Ask them, they saw for themselves.

Click here to listen and download their version of "Silent Night" & other Christmas treats.

Slow Roll (Acoustic Version)

Straight out of Augusta, GA, Funk You is, you guessed it, a funk band that "delivers an eclectic blend of funk, reggae, jazz, and hip hop focusing on a high energy progressive funk sound that will keep you moving all night long!" It is quite true. When I saw them a couple weeks ago, I couldn't help but get down to their funky sound. I had dance moves I didn't even know I had. None other than their fresh sound, don't they just look like people you want to be friends with? They're going places, so why don't you join them in their journey. Visit them on Facebook and if you're in GA go see them live! They have "Slow Roll" as a free download on their Facebook page, so go download that to hold you over until their EP comes out (which is soon.) Hope you all enjoy the free music. Go support these artists in other ways by going to a show, buying their album and just spreading the word. Have a lovely Tuesday with your new music!

October Follow Fest!

It's a link par-TAY.
Welcome welcome new readers :]
Make sure you check out all the fellow October Fest readers + links! Join the partay!

Photobucket
Autumn is my absolute favorite season. Living in the mountains is absolutely beautiful seeing the leaves change, however, this season is short-lived here. [Thanks winter] I wish I could say that my October has been filled with pumpkin carving, pumpkin-flavored everything, fall festivals and watching scary films, but due to college I can barely squeeze in time for breathing! (Kind of, but not really)

SO for this link-up party I wanted to share with you a little recap of my past Halloween costumes, because admit it, it's fun to dress up as someone completely different :] I am not one of those college students to ....you know, "dress up" as a you-know-what, instead I wear costumes that a 5-year-old probably wore too. Isn't that the best part though?

Ready?!

Also!
For a nice little Halloween treat, one of my favorite singer/songwriters has her song "Zombie" as a free download on her site in spirit of Halloween. Check it out!
& thank you to those who commented on my last post. Just keep the Funtila and Larsen family in your prayers.

Another lovely treat? A Dose of Lovely is hosting a MITTENS giveaway. Click to check it out.
